Kagadi Institute of Science and Technology (KISTEC) has successfully concluded its Computer Holiday Program that commenced in December and officially ended on 31st January 2026. The program was designed to empower learners during the holiday period with practical ICT skills that are relevant for both academic excellence and real-world application.
A total of 21 students participated in the program:
17 students trained in Computer Applications
2 students specialized in Computer Repair and Networking
2 students undertook Website Development
All participants were thoroughly assessed and awarded Certificates of Completion, marking a significant milestone in their digital skills journey.
While addressing students during the closing ceremony, the KISTEC Director, Mr. Mwinganiza Godfrey, appreciated the learners for choosing KISTEC as their ICT training partner. He encouraged them to make meaningful use of the skills acquired to enrich their education, improve their productivity, and create opportunities for themselves.
“The skills you have gained here are tools for life. Use them wisely—to excel in class, to innovate, and to build solutions for your communities,” he emphasized.
Mr. Godfrey also invited the students to become ambassadors of KISTEC, encouraging them to share their experience and help recruit other learners who are eager to acquire practical ICT skills.
He further commended parents and guardians for investing in their children’s education and supporting skills-based learning, noting that such support is critical in preparing young people for the modern digital economy.
The Computer Holiday Program aligns strongly with Uganda’s national development priorities, including the Digital Transformation Agenda, Skilling Uganda Strategy, and government efforts to promote youth employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
With Uganda’s population being predominantly youthful—and formal job opportunities remaining limited—skills development has become a national necessity rather than an option. KISTEC recognizes that relying solely on formal employment puts unnecessary pressure on government and the labor market. Instead, the institute is committed to equipping young people with ICT skills that enable self-employment, entrepreneurship, and digital inclusion.

KISTEC continues to position itself as a reliable partner in bridging the ICT skills gap among the youth, especially in rural and semi-urban communities. Programs like the Computer Holiday Program demonstrate the impact of short-term, hands-on training in transforming mindsets and unlocking potential.
The institute welcomes collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, donors, and development partners who are passionate about:
Youth empowerment, Digital literacy, and Skills development
Together, we can scale impact and prepare a generation that is digitally skilled, innovative, and economically productive.

If you are a student, parent, or youth seeking practical ICT skills that go beyond theory—skills that can help you excel academically, start a business, or compete in today’s digital world—KISTEC is the right place for you.
Enroll today and be part of the digital transformation.
